Sensors, Lens and Photo Capture

Two 1/1.1-inch square sensors sit behind F2.0 lenses with a 7.78mm 35mm-equivalent focal length. Insta360 notes the square sensor shape is what produces a 1-inch-equivalent imaging area for 4:3 360 capture.

360 photos top out at 120MP (2:1, 15520×7760). In flat mode, stills reach 42MP (1:1, 6528×6528). Files save as INSP, with DNG available, and INSP images export through the mobile app or Insta360 Studio on desktop.

360 Video Recording

Standard 360 video runs to 8K 7680×3840 at 50/48/30/25/24fps, 6K 6016×3008 at up to 60fps, and 4K 3840×1920 at up to 100fps.

Flat Video Recording

Shooting flat, the camera records 5K 5120×3840 (4:3) at up to 60fps and 5K 5120×2880 (16:9) at up to 60fps, with vertical 3:4 and 9:16 variants at 30/25fps. 4K tops out at 120fps in both 4:3 and 16:9, and 2.7K also reaches 120fps.

FreeFrame Video captures 6K 6016×6016 at up to 60fps across 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4 and 1:1 framings, letting the aspect ratio be chosen after the fact.

InstaFrame 2.0 records a flat 4K file alongside an 8K 360 backup at 30/25/24fps, or flat 4K alone at up to 60fps. Dedicated night-scene recording covers 4K and 2.7K at up to 60fps.

Colour, Audio and Exposure Controls

Colour presets are Standard (Rec.709), Dolby Vision and I-Log, with Standard, Positive Film, Negative Film, CC Film, NC Film, Fresh and Cinematic filters. Video encodes in H.265 at a maximum bitrate of 240Mbps.

Manual control covers an ISO range of 100–6400, shutter from 1/8000 to 120s, white balance from 2000K to 10000K, and ±4EV exposure compensation.

Audio records at 48 kHz, 16-bit AAC, with stereo capture, Dolby Atmos, intelligent wind noise reduction, voice enhancement and an engine sound enhancement mode.

Display, Build and Battery

A 2.32-inch OLED touchscreen sits on the front. The body weighs 196g and measures 50.0×100.0×40.0mm with the lens, or 50.0×100.0×26.4mm without.

The camera is waterproof to 20m with no external case, and rated for ambient temperatures from -20°C to 40°C. Mounting uses a 1/4-inch thread plus magnetic mounting, and stabilisation runs off a 6-axis gyroscope.

Performance, Memory and Storage

Running the show is the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex platform, paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM clocked at a maximum 2133MHz (4266Mbps peak data rate, 2×16-bit). Storage uses UFS 2.2 on a single-lane HS-G3 interface.

The device is available in two configurations:

RAM expansion is supported through one method, adding 1GB, 2GB or 4GB of virtual memory on top of the physical 4GB. The spec sheet lists a 13,280 mm² heat dissipation area; OnePlus markets this as a 5300mm² cooling system in its retail listing.

On software longevity, OnePlus certifies the 4GB + 128GB configuration for 48 months of smoothness and the 4GB + 64GB configuration for 36 months.

6.8-inch HD+ 120Hz LCD Display

The panel measures 17.30 cm (6.8 inches) with an HD+ 1570×720 resolution, working out to 254 PPI at a 19.6:9 aspect ratio. Screen-to-body ratio is listed at 90.4%.

Refresh rate tops out at 120Hz, with switching between 60Hz, 90Hz and 120Hz plus a Smart Switch mode that changes the rate automatically. Brightness is rated at 700 nits typical, rising to 900 nits in high-brightness mode.

Display controls include an eye protection mode, colour temperature adjustment, dark mode, automatic brightness, and Vivid or Natural colour modes.

Camera

A single 13MP CMOS rear sensor handles stills, with an f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, autofocus and up to 10x digital zoom. The front camera uses a 5MP sensor, also at f/2.2.

Sensor and Image Processing

Both the Ricoh GR IV and Ricoh GR IV HDF use a 23.3 x 15.5mm APS-C BSI CMOS sensor with an effective resolution of 25.74 megapixels (6192 x 4128). Native ISO sensitivity runs from 100 to 204,800, and the sensor outputs images at a 14-bit bit depth. Images can be captured in DNG or JPEG format, with aspect ratio options of 1:1, 3:2, 4:3, and 16:9.

The Ricoh GR IV HDF adds a built-in Highlight Diffusion Filter, which softens highlights directly in-camera — a feature not present on the standard Ricoh GR IV.

Lens and Autofocus

Both models carry the same GR Lens, 18.3mm focal length (28mm full-frame equivalent), built from 7 elements in 5 groups, with a maximum aperture of f/2.8 and minimum of f/16. Ricoh lists improved autofocus and low-light focusing performance on this generation over previous GR models, along with Snap Distance Priority and a focus limiter for zone-focus style shooting. Digital zoom goes up to 1.8x.

Focus range on both cameras is 3.9 inches to infinity (10cm to infinity) in normal mode, and 2.4 to 5.9 inches (6cm to 15cm) in macro mode. The standard Ricoh GR IV additionally offers 35mm and 50mm focal length crop modes.

Image Stabilization and Shutter

Both cameras use a 5-axis, 6-stop sensor-shift stabilization system. Shutter speed on the Ricoh GR IV HDF ranges from 1/4000 to 30 seconds mechanically, with an electronic shutter option up to 1/16000 second; the standard Ricoh GR IV lists mechanical shutter speeds of 1/4000 to 30 seconds. Bulb and time mode extends exposures up to 20 minutes on both models.

Exposure modes on both cameras cover Program, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, and Auto; the Ricoh GR IV HDF adds full Manual mode. Exposure compensation runs from -5 to +5 EV in 1/3 EV steps, and metering options include Center-Weighted Average, Highlight Weighted, Multi, and Spot.

Display, Storage and Connectivity

Both cameras have a fixed 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD with a resolution of 1,037,000 dots. There’s 53GB of built-in memory, plus a single microSD/microSDHC/microSDXC (UHS-I) card slot for expansion.

The Ricoh GR IV HDF is equipped with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.3, while the standard Ricoh GR IV uses 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with Bluetooth 5.3 for control. Both models connect to the GR WORLD app on Android and iOS for remote control, file access, and firmware updates. GPS tagging is available on the GR IV HDF via a connected smartphone; the standard GR IV does not list GPS support.

USB-C handles power input, data transfer, and — on the GR IV HDF — 1920 x 1080p video output; the standard GR IV routes data through the same USB-C port without a dedicated video-out spec listed. The GR IV HDF also carries a hot shoe for external flash, while the standard GR IV lists a shoe-mount external flash connection.

Video Recording

Power comes from a DB-120 rechargeable lithium-ion battery (3.85V, 1800mAh), included with both cameras, rated for approximately 250 shots per charge.
