The volume swipe is the one worth noting beyond charging convenience: only the Wireless Charging Case model lets you slide a finger up or down the stem to change volume. On the standard model, volume needs the phone or Siri.

H2 Chip and Audio

Amazon does not publish the memory and storage split that separates the three M6 configurations, so the difference between them shows only in the price at the time of writing.

The M6 Chip

The M6 brings a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU, two more cores each than the previous generation. Every GPU core now carries a Neural Accelerator, which is new to Mac mini at this tier, and the chip pairs that with an all-new Dual 16-core Neural Engine.

Memory starts at 16GB of unified memory and is configurable to 32GB, with bandwidth up to 170GB/s.

Apple states the M6 delivers up to 4x faster AI performance and 2x faster graphics than the Mac mini with M4, up to 40 percent faster CPU performance, and up to 2x faster storage. According to Apple, the Dual 16-core Neural Engine is up to 2x faster than the previous generation.

The headphone jack carries high-impedance headphone support. Both models drive up to three external displays.

Two connectivity features are new. Genlock support over USB-C allows a display and a camera to be synchronised precisely, including the iPhone 17 Pro. On the M5 Pro model, Apple says Thunderbolt 5 lets several Mac mini units be clustered together to run large AI models entirely on device.

Design and macOS

The chassis measures 12.70 cm x 12.70 cm (5.00″ x 5.00″). Apple has not published a height or weight figure in the material available.

The 2026 Mac mini ships with macOS 27 Golden Gate, which brings Siri AI, Apple Intelligence features across everyday apps, and interface changes to Liquid Glass including uniform toolbars, edge-to-edge sidebars and updated window shapes. Apple Intelligence supports 16 languages at launch, and Apple notes some features may not be available in all regions or languages.

Environment

Apple states the new Mac mini is made with 50 percent recycled material overall, including 100 percent recycled aluminium in the enclosure and 100 percent recycled rare earth elements in all magnets. The company says all electricity used to manufacture it is sourced from renewable energy across the supply chain, and its paper packaging is 100 percent fibre-based.

Display Panel and Colour

Switches and Typing

The Jelly75 Keyboard KD201 uses a built-in gasket mount structure. ASUS states this construction adds flexibility to the typing surface, reduces noise and dampens keypress vibrations.
