Pixel 6, Pixel 7, and Pixel Fold Users Rejoice! Google promises an additional 2 years of Android OS updates to these phones.

When Google launched the Pixel 6 series a few years ago, it was initially announced that Android OS updates for the devices would end with Android 15. However, a few weeks ago, Google surprised everyone by releasing an early development build of Android 16 for the Pixel 6 Pro, sparking speculation that the series might receive another major Android update.

Now, Google has officially confirmed that the Pixel 6 series, along with the newer Pixel 7 series and the original Pixel Fold, will receive an additional two years of updates.

This means, the Google Pixel 6 Series will get Android 16, as well as Android 17 stable builds, while the Pixel 7 Series and Pixel Fold will get up to Android 18.

Specs-wise, this is a lower mid-range smartphone powered by Qualcomm® SM4450 (Snapdragon® 4 Gen 2) Octa-core processor. It comes with 8GB of Physical RAM ( plus an option for 8GB Virtual RAM ) and has 256 GB of internal storage which can be expanded thanks to the micro SD card slot available.

HMD Fusion 5G features a 6.56-inch HD+ display with a pixel resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels. It supports a peak brightness of 600nits and a max refresh rate of 90hz. The screen aspect ratio is 20:9.
