Garmin has introduced the CIRQA Smart Band, its first screen-free smart band built for 24/7 health and fitness monitoring without requiring a subscription – a potential competitor to the recently launched Google Fitbit Air and Whoops band.
Key highlights include up to 10 days of battery life, screen-free activity detection, and wrist-based health monitoring synced instantly to the Garmin Connect app. The CIRQA Smart Band is available now in select markets and is expected to go up for pre-order soon on Amazon UK, Amazon US, Amazon India, and other regional Amazon marketplaces.

Garmin states the CIRQA Smart Band carries a suggested retail price of $199.99 and does not require a subscription for its core health and fitness tracking features. Comfortable, Distraction-Free Design
The CIRQA Smart Band uses an inconspicuous design that Garmin says is meant to minimise distractions while still tracking health and performance metrics in the background. There’s no display to check throughout the day — activity detection and recording happen automatically, even without a screen.
Detected activities can be reviewed and edited afterwards in the Garmin Connect app. Garmin states that as users confirm or adjust these activities, the band adapts over time to classify similar activities more accurately.
The fabric band is designed for all-day wear and can be worn around the wrist or repositioned as an arm band, depending on whether it’s being used during a workout or overnight for sleep tracking.
Health Monitoring
Garmin states that wearing the CIRQA Smart Band day and night helps build a more complete picture of overall health. The band tracks wrist-based heart rate, Body Battery energy monitoring, Pulse Ox, stress, and skin temperature, with data appearing in the Garmin Connect app.
Pulse Ox tracking is included, though Garmin notes this is not a medical device and is not intended for diagnosing or monitoring any medical condition; Pulse Ox is also not available in all countries.
Women’s health tracking covers menstrual cycle and pregnancy tracking, with period predictions and past ovulation estimates generated from skin temperature data recorded while sleeping. Garmin states this feature is not intended to support conception, contraception, or birth control, and is not a medical device. The band can also sync data with the FDA-cleared Natural Cycles birth control app, which requires its own separate subscription; Garmin describes its device as a consumer wellness device rather than a medical device, with the Natural Cycles app independently determining fertility status from skin temperature and other data.
Sleep Tracking
Sleep data includes a breakdown of sleep stages, a sleep score, guidance on optimal sleep duration, heart rate variability, respiration, and nap detection, all viewable in Garmin Connect. A sleep alignment feature shows how closely a user’s sleep pattern matches their circadian rhythm, along with sleep consistency over time.
Fitness Tracking
Beyond daily steps and calories burned, the CIRQA Smart Band tracks more than 80 different activities, including running, walking, yoga, and cycling. Activities can be selected manually through the Garmin Connect app, or a favourite activity can be started directly from the single side button on the band.
Advanced training metrics include training readiness, HRV status, VO2 max, and training status, which Garmin positions as tools for understanding training effectiveness. Workout benefit and recovery time estimates are also included, giving an indication of how a session affected the body and how long recovery may take.
Connected GPS pairs the band with a compatible iPhone or Android smartphone’s GPS to track outdoor walks, rides, and runs. LiveTrack location sharing lets friends and family follow a session in real time through a paired smartphone running the Garmin Connect app.
Garmin Connect and Garmin Connect+
All health and fitness data syncs to the Garmin Connect smartphone app, where auto-detected activities can be viewed and edited. An optional Garmin Connect+ subscription plan adds premium features on top of the free tier, including live activities, Garmin Coach training plans, nutrition tracking, and Garmin Active Intelligence, which Garmin describes as an AI-powered feature for personalised insights. The core smart band functionality does not require this subscription.
