When Google launched the Pixel 6 series a few years ago, it was initially announced that Android OS updates for the devices would end with Android 15. However, a few weeks ago, Google surprised everyone by releasing an early development build of Android 16 for the Pixel 6 Pro, sparking speculation that the series might receive another major Android update.

Now, Google has officially confirmed that the Pixel 6 series, along with the newer Pixel 7 series and the original Pixel Fold, will receive an additional two years of updates.

This means, the Google Pixel 6 Series will get Android 16, as well as Android 17 stable builds, while the Pixel 7 Series and Pixel Fold will get up to Android 18.
