Xiaomi’s Ultra-Thin Magnetic Power Bank 5000 15W (MDY-20-EB) is now available to purchase in India online, and is listed on Amazon at launch selling price of Rs.5,599 (Lowest Price on September 11, 2026). The MRP price is Rs.10,999.
Key specs highlights include a 6mm thick, 98g magnetic body, 15W magnetic wireless output, 22.5W wired output over USB-C, and a 5,000mAh typical cell rated at 3,000mAh at 5V/2A.
The power bank is listed in three colour options at the same price: Orange, Silver and Black.
What We Like About the Xiaomi Ultra-Thin Magnetic Power Bank 5000 15W (MDY-20-EB)
- 6mm thickness and 98g weight: adds roughly the depth of a case to the back of a phone rather than the depth of a second phone
- 15W magnetic wireless output: charges without a cable on Qi-compatible phones, with 7.5W on iPhone models
- 22.5W wired output over USB-C: the wired path runs at 5V/3A or 9V/2.5A, well above the wireless ceiling
- Simultaneous two-device charging: 7.5W over USB-C plus 5W wireless when both outputs are in use
- Aluminium alloy shell: a metal body rather than the plastic shells common at this size
Charging Output
The wireless side runs at up to 15W on mainstream Qi phones and up to 7.5W on iPhone models, using magnetic induction on an operating frequency of 120kHz to 147kHz. Xiaomi has not published a separate figure for magnet holding force.
Wired charging goes through the USB-C port, which supports 5V/3A and 9V/2.5A for a 22.5W ceiling. That is the fastest path on the unit, so the cable is still the quicker option when time matters.
Both outputs can run together. In that mode the budget splits to 7.5W over USB-C and 5W wireless, which is a substantial drop from either output on its own, so two-device charging is better treated as a convenience than as a fast top-up.
Battery Capacity
Xiaomi lists a typical energy of 18.95Wh (3.79V, 5,000mAh) and a rated energy of 18.58Wh (3.79V, 4,900mAh). The figure that actually reaches a phone is the rated capacity of 3,000mAh at 5V/2A, since stepping the cell voltage up to USB output voltage costs energy along the way.
The cell is a lithium-ion pack. Xiaomi describes it as a smartphone-grade silicon-carbon battery, and states that the unit carries 10 layers of protection covering overcharge, short-circuit, temperature control and foreign object detection.
Compatibility
Magnetic attachment works with iPhone models and with Qi-enabled Android phones, and Xiaomi lists Samsung and Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 10 devices among the supported handsets. Android phones without a magnet array in the back panel will need a magnetic case for the pack to hold in place.
The USB-C port charges anything that takes a USB-C input, magnetic or not, which covers earbuds cases, wearables and phones without wireless charging.
Design and Build
The shell is aluminium alloy, and Xiaomi states that the metal body helps the unit stay cool in use. Dimensions are 98.5 × 71.5 × 6mm at a weight of 98g, which is close to the footprint of a credit card in height and width.
