High-Resolution Imaging & Performance
The Alpha 7R VI utilizes a 66.8MP effective megapixel fully-stacked sensor designed to reduce noise in the mid-sensitivity range. The BIONZ XR2 engine provides approximately 5.6x faster sensor readout compared to the previous model, enabling up to 60 AF/AE calculations per second.
The camera features an updated 5-axis optical image stabilization system, delivering up to 8.5 stops of correction at the center and 7.0 stops at the periphery. For autofocus, it introduces Real-time Recognition AF+ (Plus), which uses skeletal-based human pose estimation and tracking to maintain focus on fast-moving subjects.
Professional Video Capabilities
- Resolution: Supports 8K 30p recording with 8.2K oversampling.
- Frame Rates: Full-frame 4K 60p and 120p recording without cropping.
- Dual Gain Shooting: Optimizes sensor performance for smooth gradations and reduced noise in shadows.
- Audio: Internal 32-bit float audio recording is possible when paired with the new XLR-A4 adaptor.
- Stabilization: Redesigned in-camera stabilization expands the roll-direction compensation range.
