The Redmi 15 5G features a 6.9-inch Full HD+ resolution display with support for up to 144Hz Adaptive Sync and a touch sampling rate of up to 288Hz. The peak screen brightness is 850 nits, and the pixel density is 374 PPI.

When it comes to Cameras – Xiaomi is a bit vague – it mentions 50MP Dual AI Cameras at the rear. Now what does that mean? Does it mean it has two 50MP cameras? If you have seen the product images of the Redmi 15 15G, you can clearly see there are 3 cameras at the back. We are 100% sure that the main rear camera is a 50MP sensor, while the official specs page doesn’t mention details of the other cameras at the back. The second camera on the back, we assume, is a 2MP auxiliary lens/sensor also known as a depth sensor. What about the third camera on the back? We don’t know – Why so secretive, Xiaomi? Usually, companies do this when they have to hide something.

The official FAQ page on Xiaomi Mi India website reads as follows:

“What is the camera setup on the Redmi 15 5G?: It boasts a 50MP sensor as the main camera, ensuring vibrant colors and sharp details. Additionally, it includes a front-facing 8MP camera. The rear camera setup is protected by the Aero space grade metal camera deco offering increased protection from falls and damage for the lenses.“

On the front, you get an 8MP F2.2 aperture lens for your selfies. AI Editing features such as AI Sky and AI Erase are supported.

Various sensors available are: Ambient Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor (Virtual), E-Compass and Accelerometer. It also has an IR Blaster, which can be used as a Remote to operate various IR-supported electronic equipment.

Xiaomi Redmi 15 5G ships with HyperOS 2 Operating System, which is based on Android 15. Xiaomi promises 2 years of Major OS updates and 4 years of security updates. So, it is eligible to get Android 16, as well as Android 17, in the future. It’s a shame it doesn’t come with Android 16 out of the box.

This smartphone is IP64 water resistant – it can survive splashes and slight rain – but do not submerge it in water. Water damages are not covered under warranty by any manufacturer selling smartphones globally.
